Driving School in PWD Housing Society, Islamabad

Served by our POLICE FOUNDATION, PWD branch Published

Learning where the branch is

The PWD branch is inside Police Foundation, which puts it a few minutes from Blocks A, B, C and D. As in I-10, that mostly buys you flexibility: a slot can be moved without losing a day, and no part of the lesson is spent commuting to the road you are going to practise on.

The internal roads of the society are the right place to begin — calm, familiar, and narrow enough that you learn to place the car accurately rather than drifting about in a wide lane.

Narrow lanes and parked cars

PWD teaches one thing particularly well: driving down a residential lane with vehicles parked on both sides and someone coming the other way. Judging whether you fit, who gives way, and where to wait is a daily skill that an open training ground cannot reproduce at all.

It also builds accurate steering faster than anything else, because the margins are genuinely small.

Out onto the highway

The other half of the course is the road the society sits beside. Merging into fast traffic, choosing a lane early, and reading exits before you reach them are practised once you are confident inside the society. This is the part that decides whether you feel safe on the commute afterwards.

Which licence applies to you

PWD sits close to the boundary, and learners here go both ways. The address on your CNIC decides it: an Islamabad address means an ICT licence through Islamabad Traffic Police, a Rawalpindi address means a Punjab licence through the Rawalpindi licensing authority. Different office and different queue, same practical standard — so the training does not change. We confirm which one is yours before you start.
