Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about learning to drive with King Driving School in Islamabad — fees, timings, pick & drop, female instructors and the driving-licence process.

Getting started: courses, timings and fees

How much does a driving course cost in Islamabad?
Driving courses at King Driving School start from Rs. 14,000. Scooty and bike training starts at Rs. 14,000, Suzuki Mehran at Rs. 15,000, automatic cars (Alto Automatic and Daihatsu Mira) at Rs. 20,000, Suzuki Alto manual at Rs. 30,000, and the all-inclusive KDS Signature Plan at Rs. 60,000. Every fee covers instruction, fuel and the training vehicle.
How many days does it take to learn to drive?
Most learners at King Driving School finish in 7 to 13 days. A short theory session covers controls, road signs and traffic rules, then you drive daily on real Islamabad roads with a certified instructor. Timings are flexible, so you can take morning, afternoon or evening classes around work or study.
Do I need any experience to join?
No experience is needed. Most people who join King Driving School have never sat in the driver's seat before. Your first lesson starts in a quiet area with the basics — seat and mirror position, steering, clutch and brake — and you only move into traffic once you and your instructor are both confident.
Do you teach both manual and automatic cars?
Yes. King Driving School trains on manual cars (Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Mehran), automatic cars (Suzuki Alto Automatic, Daihatsu Mira), motorcycles (CD-70) and scooty. Learn automatic if you only ever plan to drive automatics; learn manual if you want a licence that lets you drive any car, including a friend's or a rental.
What is included in the course fee?
The fee covers your instructor, the training vehicle, fuel and all scheduled driving hours — there is nothing extra to pay for lessons. Pick and drop is available across Islamabad. Government driving-licence fees are paid to the licensing authority separately; we guide you through that process at no additional charge.
Can I choose my own class timings?
Yes. Classes run Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM at I-10 Markaz and 8:30 AM at PWD, and the I-10 branch is also open on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You pick a daily slot that fits your routine, and you can ask to change it if your schedule shifts.

Learning to drive as a woman in Islamabad

Is there a female driving instructor in Islamabad?
Yes. King Driving School has certified female driving instructors at both the I-10 Markaz and PWD branches, and you can request one when you enrol. Lessons run at your pace, and pick and drop from home is available across Islamabad so you do not have to travel to the branch alone.
Can a female student learn on an automatic car?
Yes. Many women choose the automatic course because there is no clutch and no gear changing to think about, which makes city traffic far less stressful for a new driver. Automatic training on the Suzuki Alto Automatic or Daihatsu Mira starts at Rs. 20,000 with a female instructor available on request.
Do you teach scooty riding to women?
Yes. Scooty training starts at Rs. 14,000 and covers balance, controls, road positioning and traffic rules, taught by an instructor who stays with you until you can ride confidently in normal traffic. It is one of the quickest and most affordable ways for a woman in Islamabad to become independently mobile.

Driving licence process in Islamabad

How do I get a driving licence in Islamabad?
Apply for a learner permit at the Islamabad Traffic Police licensing facility, hold it for the required practice period, then book and pass the practical driving test. King Driving School prepares you for the test on the same kind of road layout examiners use, and guides you through each step of the application.
What documents do I need for a driving licence?
You normally need your original CNIC plus a photocopy, passport-size photographs, your learner permit, and the prescribed government fee. Requirements and fees are set by the licensing authority and can change, so confirm the current list before you go — we help every student get their paperwork in order first.
Do you help with the driving licence, or only the lessons?
We do both. Every course includes guidance on the licence process — what to bring, where to go and what the examiner looks for. The KDS Signature Plan goes further and includes hands-on driving-licence assistance from start to finish, which is why it is the plan most students in a hurry choose.
Will I pass the driving test after this course?
Our training is built around what the test actually checks: controlled starts and stops, correct lane use, mirror and signal discipline, parking and reversing, and calm behaviour in traffic. We do not conduct or influence the official test, but students who complete the full course and practise as advised are well prepared for it.

Branches, pick & drop and payment

Where are King Driving School branches located?
There are two branches in Islamabad. I-10 Markaz is at Shaukat Plaza, Sohni Road, near Allied Bank — call (051) 4445444. PWD is at Plot 386, Block B, Police Foundation, near Tandoori Restaurant — call (051) 4445666. Choose whichever is closer; the courses and fees are the same at both.
Do you provide pick and drop for driving lessons?
Yes. Pick and drop is available across Islamabad and the nearby Rawalpindi areas our PWD branch serves, so your lesson can start from your home or workplace instead of the branch. Tell us your address when you enrol and we will confirm the coverage and the daily timing.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you are not satisfied after your first driving class, King Driving School offers a money-back guarantee. We would rather return your fee than have you continue a course you are not comfortable with — confidence behind the wheel matters more to us than a single payment.
Which branch should I choose?
Pick the branch closer to you. I-10 Markaz serves I-8, I-9, I-10, I-11, G-9, G-10 and G-11 and is open seven days a week. PWD serves PWD, Police Foundation, Media Town, Ghauri Town, Soan Garden, DHA, Bahria Town and the Rawalpindi side, Monday to Saturday.
