Driving School in Rawalpindi

King Driving School serves Rawalpindi from our PWD branch at Police Foundation, on the Islamabad Highway side of the city. We teach manual and automatic car, bike and scooty with certified male and female instructors, cover the housing schemes along the Expressway and GT Road corridors with pick and drop, and guide you through the Rawalpindi licensing process.

What learning to drive in Rawalpindi is actually like

Rawalpindi asks more of a new driver than Islamabad does, and it is honest to say so. The road layout is older and less regular than Islamabad's sector grid, junctions are busier, and you share the road with far more motorcycles, rickshaws and loading traffic. A driver trained only on empty sector roads is not ready for it. Our Rawalpindi students learn the controls in quieter housing schemes — Media Town, Soan Garden, Ghauri Town, Pakistan Town — and then practise where it is genuinely difficult, because that is the traffic you will drive in every day and the standard you will be tested against.

Which driving licence applies to you

A Rawalpindi address means a Punjab driving licence issued through the Rawalpindi licensing authority, not the Islamabad Traffic Police process — different office, different queue, same practical standard. Which one applies to you follows the address on your CNIC. We confirm it before you start and prepare you for the test either way.

FAQs

Driving lessons in Rawalpindi: common questions

Do you have a driving school branch in Rawalpindi?
Our PWD branch at Plot 386, Block B, Police Foundation — phone (051) 4445666 — is the one that serves Rawalpindi learners, and it sits on the Islamabad Highway side, close to the Rawalpindi housing schemes. It is open Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Pick and drop brings the lesson to you.
Which Rawalpindi areas do you cover?
Pick and drop covers the schemes along the Expressway and Islamabad Highway corridor, including Media Town, Soan Garden, Ghauri Town, Pakistan Town, Gulzar-e-Quaid, CBR Town, Gulrez, Gulberg, Airport Housing Society, Jinnah Garden, River Garden and Khanna Pul. Ask us if your area is not listed — coverage changes as we add instructors.
Do I get a Rawalpindi licence or an Islamabad one?
The address on your CNIC decides it. A Rawalpindi address goes through the Rawalpindi licensing authority for a Punjab licence; an Islamabad address goes through Islamabad Traffic Police for an ICT licence. The driving standard is the same, so the training does not change — only where you file the paperwork.
How much does a driving course cost in Islamabad?
Driving courses at King Driving School start from Rs. 14,000. Scooty and bike training starts at Rs. 14,000, Suzuki Mehran at Rs. 15,000, automatic cars (Alto Automatic and Daihatsu Mira) at Rs. 20,000, Suzuki Alto manual at Rs. 30,000, and the all-inclusive KDS Signature Plan at Rs. 60,000. Every fee covers instruction, fuel and the training vehicle.
How many days does it take to learn to drive?
Most learners at King Driving School finish in 7 to 13 days. A short theory session covers controls, road signs and traffic rules, then you drive daily on real Islamabad roads with a certified instructor. Timings are flexible, so you can take morning, afternoon or evening classes around work or study.
Do you provide pick and drop for driving lessons?
Yes. Pick and drop is available across Islamabad and the nearby Rawalpindi areas our PWD branch serves, so your lesson can start from your home or workplace instead of the branch. Tell us your address when you enrol and we will confirm the coverage and the daily timing.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you are not satisfied after your first driving class, King Driving School offers a money-back guarantee. We would rather return your fee than have you continue a course you are not comfortable with — confidence behind the wheel matters more to us than a single payment.
Is there a female driving instructor in Islamabad?
Yes. King Driving School has certified female driving instructors at both the I-10 Markaz and PWD branches, and you can request one when you enrol. Lessons run at your pace, and pick and drop from home is available across Islamabad so you do not have to travel to the branch alone.
